EN: Between Fürgangen and Mühlebach the Rhone flows through the steep and narrow Lamma Gorge. The only direct link between the two villages was a difficult footpath over unstable terrain, which was repeatedly damaged by landslides. This is how the idea arose to build a suspension bridge in 2010.

The Goms Bridge was opened in 2015. With a length of 280 meters and a height of 92 meters, it is one of the ten longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world and soon became a tourist attraction. Unlike many other suspension bridges in the Alps, some of which are only accessible by challenging hikes of several hours, the Goms Bridge is easily accessible from both sides and can be used with strollers and wheelchairs.
