As act of resistance there were strikes organized in the Netherlands. The German revenge consisted in the execution of randomly chosen citizens. On this place on 3 May 1943 16 people were executed.

This monument in red stone, surrounded by boulders, is founded to commemorate them.
The inscription (in Dutch language) says:
