"Bairnsdale Visitor Information Centre, in East Gippsland, is ideally situated at the start of the Great Alpine Road and a focal point on the Sydney to Melbourne Coastal Route serving both the Gippsland Lakes to the east and the High Country to the north."
"Bairnsdale Visitor Centre provides not only information but offers a free booking service for accommodation and for the many tours around the Gippsland Lakes Region by land sea and air. A comprehensive range of souvenirs and locally made products are also available, as is internet access. In addition fishing licences, television or video display and Laminating service (to A3) are available."
There is also a 'Penny Smasher' here (which I hope to Waymark sometime).
