When the Spanish army and missionaries came to California in 1979, they made a route. El Camino Real for travel between missions they established, stretching fro, San Diego to Sonoma. In the early 1900s, a group of women's clubs, among others decided to mark the trail and chose its symbol a mission bell mounted on a shepherds crppk. This bell is a replica from the 1960s and marks the trails approximate path through our city, reminds us of early California history. |
