The baptismal fonts are located in the center of the southern crossroads of the cathedral, they are in marble and rests on a column of marble.
The south cross is of different architecture and constitutes the jewel of the cathedral.
The oldest part of the edifice, it is of primitive Gothic style, like the cathedrals of Laon and Noyon. It is a true manifestation of the first Gothic art by its four levels of elevation.
In fact, it has a four-storey elevation, not three, as is the case for the nave and choir. In addition to the large arcades, the triforium and the high windows, it has a first floor of grandstands (like Notre-Dame de Paris, which does not have a triforium).
It ends with a rounded apse. The assembly is shaped like a semicircle. Narrower than the northern cross, but a little deeper, it is surrounded by an ambulatory, also narrower than that of the choir.
The large arcades are narrow and separated by a series of Sissonnais pillars alternating with lighter columns (one pillar and two small columns), the tribunes have three arcades, while the triforium has six.
On the south-eastern side of the ambulatory of the southern crossing, there is a large round chapel on one floor. The ground floor of this one is vaulted of 10 ogives converging at the top in a very beautiful key of vault presenting a lamb. The upper floor or chapel opens onto the transept stands.

Le croisillon sud est d'architecture différente et constitue le joyau de la cathédrale.
Partie la plus ancienne de l'édifice, il est de style gothique primitif, à l'instar des cathédrales de Laon et de Noyon. C'est une véritable manifestation du premier art gothique par ses quatre niveaux d'élévation.
Il présente en effet une élévation à quatre étages, et non trois comme c'est le cas pour la nef et le chœur. Outre les grandes arcades, le triforium et les fenêtres hautes, il possède en effet un premier étage de tribunes (comme Notre-Dame de Paris, laquelle en revanche n'a pas de triforium).
Il se termine par une abside arrondie. L'ensemble est en forme d'hémicycle. Plus étroit que le croisillon nord, mais un peu plus profond, il est entouré d'un déambulatoire, lui aussi plus étroit que celui du chœur.
Les grandes arcades sont étroites et séparées par une série de piliers soissonnais, en alternance avec de plus légères colonnettes (à raison d'un pilier puis deux colonnettes), les tribunes présentent trois arcades, tandis que le triforium en a six.
Du côté sud-est du déambulatoire du croisillon sud s'ouvre largement une grande chapelle ronde à étage. Le rez-de-chaussée de celle-ci est voûtée de 10 ogives convergeant au sommet en une fort belle clé de voûte présentant un agneau. L'étage ou chapelle haute s'ouvre sur les tribunes du transept.
