A 4km paddle led me to this control point. I've been wanting to find this one for a while now, and the weather was favourable(ish). I've included the ASCM sheet and they describe the location as a 'grassy meadow'. It should read 'muskeg'. I put in the canoe at the closest tangent (+/- 90m was the closest I could get from the water) and that was a mistake. The entire area is very wet. The best way to approach this monument is from the north where there is somewhat high ground, but I couldn't find a path to the monument where my boots didn't get wet.
The monument itself is submerged in muskeg, and the marker post was bent over, I assume by animals scratching themselves. I was able to feel the top of the monument roughly 10cm below the surface of the water, but the sediment didn't clear enough for a picture. Judging by feel, it seems to be in good shape, and I would not hesitate to use this benchmark in a survey.
