Over 50 guitars are located in the Guitar Gallery: The Quest for Volume within the Museum of Pop Culture. One of them is an 1834 Martin 1953 Fender Telecaster guitar. A nearby placard reads:

After marketing Broadcasters for only six months Fender hanged the name to avoid trouble with Gretsch, who made Broadcaster drums. Renamed Telecaster in 1951, the guitar was a huge success. The Telecaster--virtually identical to the Broadcaster--helped popularize the electric guitar. Later, musicians from Muddy Waters to Buck Owens to Bruce Springsteen would make its sound famous.
