The footpath is called the North Cheshire Way and has a route in the North of the county of Cheshire.

It was designed to compliment other existing paths in Cheshire including the South Cheshire Way.

Sadly David Kinsell died before the path was completed and this plaque commemorates his work on the path.

At this point the path joins the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal for a short length. The plaque is next to bridge 135 over the canal and is at the top of a ramp that leads to the towpath.
