The Indian Creek Nature Center is a private, nonprofit corporation. It’s purpose is to promote a sustainable future by:
Nurturing individuals through environmental education.
Providing leadership in land protection and restoration, and
Encourage responsible interaction with nature.
Inside the Nature Barn you will find mounted animals and waterfowl. Watch the indoor beehive behind the see-through plastic as they go about their daily routine. Watch birds as they come and go at the feeders. Climb the winding stairway inside the old silo and when you get to the top, you’ll have a bird’s eye view of the world.
The center manages a 210 acre nature preserve. There are 4 miles of trails through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies. School and youth group programs are available to suit any child from preschool through high school. In the spring (March only) there is a Maple Syruping program to show the history of Indian and early pioneer methods of sugaring. There is even a Maple Sugarhouse to learn the modern methods and taste maple syrup.
Come and enjoy a day exploring the trails, and all that this center has to offer. I brought my children here many times as they were growing. Now I bring my grandchildren. We’ve never been disappointed.
