The Miners Memorial Wall remembers 181 coal miners who lost their lives in British Columbia from May 15th, 1901 to March 16th, 2014. Among those are miners who died in three major coal mining disasters that claimed the lives of thirty-four miners:

1904 - January 8th Seven died in a Michel explosion.
1916 - August 8th Twelve died in three explosions at Michel’s New No. 3 East Mine.
1967 - April 3rd Natal, BC: 3:59 pm. Fifteen of a 32 man shift died in Crowsnest Industry Limited’s Balmer North Mine.

The Miners Memorial Wall was unveiled on National Day of Mourning Friday, April 28, 2017. Thousands of workers, families, employers and union members from around British Columbia attended the ceremony.
