The former brewery of the abbey Heisterbach is one of two preserved original buildings of the cloister scenery. It was built in 1711.
Wage tenants brewed beer in this building, baked bread and ground flour until 1803.
In 1918 The Catholic sister's community "Cellitinnen nach der Regel des hl. Augustinus" acquired the area from the owner at that time and brought back the monastic life. In the brewery the small chapel with sacristy was in the upper floor. The rooms in the ground floor served at first still the agriculture and were available later to the guests of the convent.
