In Concord, east of the Merrimack River, is the Merrimack River Education and Conservation Area.

The conservation is on the east side of I-93 and the Merrimack River. From I-93, go east on I-393 to NH Route 132. Go north on this road to Portsmouth Street on the left side, then turn left and travel on this road to the parking lot on the left.

From the parking lot, walk along the road a short distance west to the trail. The trail runs along the brook to its first split where you can continue to walk along the brook or take a straighter route through a tall red pine forest to a kiosk. Continue on this trail to a beach by the Merrimack River. Go another way and you could rejoin the trail at Mill Brook.
