The Benton-MacKaye Trailhead diverges from the Appalachian Trail about 1500 feet below the summit of Springer Mountain to reach the Springer Mountain Shelter.

The Springer Mountain shelter sleeps 15 in a 2-story shelter with a latrine. No reservations are required.

The day Blasterz were here, volunteers were doing trail maintenance.
