Das Amstettner Rathaus wurde 1898 erbaut und ist eine gelungene Verbindung von altem und neuem Baustil. Gleichzeitig stellt es das Wahrzeichen von Amstetten dar. Auffällig sind der Renaissancegiebel und der imposante Turmaufbau mit Uhren, Flacherker und Doppeladler. 1980 erfolgten Renovierungsarbeiten, die klassizistische Fassade des Gebäudes blieb dabei aber weitgehend erhalten und zeigt Details aus Gipsstuck, wie Wasserspeier und andere Verzierungen. Das Rathaus dient auch als Galerie. In den Gängen des Gebäudes werden Werke von diversen Künstlern ausgestellt. Im Rathaussaal finden regelmäßig verschiedenste Veranstaltungen statt.

Amstetten hat eine günstige Lage als wichtiger Bahn- und Straßenverkehrsknotenpunkt und unmittelbare Verbindung zur Westautobahn und zur Donau. Sie ist Tor zum Ybbstal und zum Gesäuse.

The Amstetten Town Hall was built in 1898 and is a successful combination of old and new architecture. At the same time it is the landmark of Amstetten. The Renaissance gable and the imposing tower construction with clocks, shallow bay windows and two-headed eagle are striking. Renovation work was carried out in 1980, but the neo-classical façade of the building remained largely intact, showing details of plaster, water spouts and other decorations. The town hall also serves as a gallery. In the corridors of the building works of various artists are exhibited. The council chamber regularly hosts various events.
