The building of the Elementary school located near the city center and near Elbe river in Nymburk is named after a Czech art historian, sports organizer and founder of the Sokol movement Miroslav Tyrš and it is probably oldest school in Nymburk. The history of the school dates back to 1881 when the construction of the building started. On a turret of the building one can find the mounted clock with four dials. The dials of circular shape are black with gilded Latin numbers and gilded hands.
