The fountain shows the "Treideln" (people or animals pull a boat against the current of the river ) which had a long tradition in Wesseling.
Wesseling was the only change station for horses and "Treidler" on the way from Cologne to Bonn. "Treidler" who pull bug of a ship on the stylised Rhine are shown.

The well was created by Jan Schlesinger in 1987.
