The Jewish cemetery in Hersel was in use from the 19th century till 1942. 33 gravestones still exist.
The cemetery takes an avenging of 747 square metres and encloses 34 graves from the time between 1854-1933. The gravestone of Martha Kappel from 1854 is oldest one on the cemetery. Presumably she was the first person to be buried here.
The allocation is chronological nearly continuously, beginning in the rear northeast corner. The chronological funeral was given up in 1917.
A tip board at the entrance was established in 2004 explains the history of the Jewish cemetery.
The cemetery is an architectural historical monument and listed in "Liste der Baudenkmäler in Hersel".
