The Green Plaques Project, an initiative of the Berry and District Historical Society, was officially launched on Thursday, June 29 2017.
An official unveiling was held at the Berry Museum. Eleven historical buildings in Berry now have circular, bronze green plaques installed. Each plaque features a brief summary of the building’s history.
The plaque is worded:
Berry Railway Station
The railway from Sydney reached Berry in 1893. The station was lengthened to accommodate the especially long trains that ran for the Berry races, which were held until World War 1.
