A timeline 11th century to 19th century inside the gatehouse of Nottingham Castle.
"Where's the Castle?
Behind you is the gatehouse of what was once one of the greatest castles in the land. For more than 600 years Nottingham Castle saw more than its share of Royal visits, political intrigue, military activity, sieges and murder. All the Kings of England from William the Conqueror to King Henry VIII stayed at the castle. Although that castle no longer stands, you can see many remains of it around the grounds and in tunnels and caves within the castle rock."
