Unterhalb von Baierbrunn wird der Werkkanal von der Isar abgeleitet. Etwas oberhalb der Großhesseloher Brücke geht er in den Besitz der Stadtwerke München über. Im weiteren Verlauf wird das Gefälle von drei Wasserkraftwerken, den Isarwerken 1, 2 und 3 zur Stromerzeugung genutzt.
Das Isarwerk 2 wurde von 1921 bis 1923 erbaut und von 2008 bis 2010 modernisiert.
Man kann das Werk besichtigen und erfährt dann, wie ein Laufwasserkraftwerk funktioniert und erhalten interessante Einblicke in das historische Kraftwerk.

Below Baierbrunn the factory canal is derived from the river Isar. A little above the Großhesseloher bridge it passes into the possession of the Stadtwerke Munich. In the further course, the slope of three hydroelectric power stations, Isarwerke 1, 2 and 3 is used to generate electricity.
The Isarwerk 2 was built between 1921 and 1923 and was modernized between 2008 and 2010.
