Text from the plaque:-
The pavilion is inspired by the satirical sub-story hidden within the Thornhill paintings in Hanbury's Great Hall. Located on the site of a missing pavilion and brought up to contemporary political times, it views Brexit through the frame of ancient Greek mythological stories.
Agnes has portrayed Boris Johnson as Achilles, with the shield and trident of Britania, dragging a lifeless Hector (David Cameron) behind his chariot. According to the original story, The Iliad, following Achilles' death his armour would be inherited by the bravest of the Greeks. Odysseus (not depicted here) and Ajax battle to express their entitlement to his armour. Odysseus wins and Ajax (depicted as Michael Gove) is sent mad by Athena (Theresa May) causing him to slaughter the flock of sheep destined to feed the nation. when he recovers his senses and realises what he's done he commits (political) suicide.
The two scenes are drawn onto the sides of the pavilion made in steel.
