The Virginia Civil Rights Memorial is located on the grounds of the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, Virginia. Opened in July 21st 2008, the memorial had 18 civil rights leaders and participants including Barbara Rose Johns, Oliver Hill, Leslie Francis Griffin and Spottswood William Robinson III.

Designed by Stanley Bleifeld, the monument features the words "It seemed like reaching for the moon." and "The legal system can force open doors and sometimes even knock down walls, but it cannot build bridges. That job belongs to you and me" said by Barbara Rose Johns and Thurgood Marshall respectively.
