FR Au nord-est de Banon, se dresse, sur un ancien oppidum, une chapelle dédiée à Notre-Dame des Anges. On y accède à pied par un bon sentier.
Deux oratoires vous accueillent au bas de l'escalier qui mène à la terrasse arborée. La chapelle en partie romane avec son abside du 13ème siècle est en forme de croix. Son clocher-mur à une arcade est surmontée d'une Vierge. Le porche est encadré par deux saints et par les oculus de la porte on peut voir les peintures fin 19ème qui recouvrent la nef, l'abside et son cul de four.
On devine sur les murs de la nef, les cinq ex-voto, classés au Monuments historiques. Ces toiles, représentent l'apparition de la Vierge, et datent des 18 et 19ème siècle. Le mur de l'arc triomphant est recouvert d'une fresque "adoration de la vierge par Saint Marc et Sainte Claire". L'autel immaculé, supporte une vierge dorée amenée en procession depuis Banon la nuit du 14 août. Pélerinage le 15 août.
La terrasse autour de la chapelle est très agréable avec sa vue sur Banon accroché à la montage. Côté chevet, près d'un marronier, jolie vue sur la plaine de la Rochegiron et de Saumane, et la montagne de Lure.
EN To the north-east of Banon stands a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Angels on an old oppidum. It is reached by foot on a good footpath.
Two oratories welcome you at the bottom of the staircase which leads to the raised terrace. The partly Romanesque chapel with its 13th century apse is shaped like a cross. Its bell tower with an arcade is surmounted by a Virgin. The porch is framed by two saints and by the oculus of the door one can see the late 19th century paintings which cover the nave, the apse and its furnace ass.
One can guess on the walls of the nave, the five ex-votos, classified in the Historical Monuments. These canvases represent the appearance of the Virgin, and date from the 18th and 19th century. The wall of the triumphant arch is covered with a fresco "adoration of the virgin by Saint Mark and Santa Clara". The immaculate altar supports a golden virgin brought in procession from Banon on the night of 14 August. Pilgrimage on 15 August.
The terrace around the chapel is very nice with its view on Banon hanging on the assembly. Side chevet, near a marronier, pretty view on the plain of Rochegiron and Saumane, and the mountain of Lure.
