A monument honoring the men from Winfield, NY who died during the Civil War is located in West Winfield Cemetery on the south side of Main Street, U.S. Route 20.

The Winfield, NY Civil War Monument is 20' high marble shaft with a gilded eagle at the top. The the front of the base contains the dedication and the remaining three sides base are inscribed with the names of those from the Winfield area who died during the Civil War.

The north side of the monument contains the dedication:

IN MEMORIAM.
ERECTED BY THE VOLUNTARY OFFERINGS OF THE PATRIOTIC
CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF WINFIELD IN HONOR OF OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS
WHO DURING THE GREAT REBELLION OF 1861-5 LAID THEMSELVES
LIVING SACRIFICES UPON THE ALTAR OF LIBERTY AND DIED
THAT THEIR COUNTRY MIGHT LIVE.

DEDICATED JULY 4TH 1867.
