This sign is situated on the eastern side of St Monans at the start of the route eastwards to the next coastal village of Pittenweem.

The Fife Coastal Path, part of the North Sea Trail, runs from Kincardine to the south, right along the peninsula of Fife to Newburgh in the north. The path hugs the coast for the majority of its journey.
