Long Description:
The cross was established in 1761 by stonecutter master Antoniu Haffner from Hannebach near Kempenich by order of a businessman who got rescued from a raid.
Robbers waylaid at night for the businessman. When he jumped down from the way and hid, a heavy stone rolled the slope and brought the pursuers on a wrong track.
In recognition of his rescue the businessman donated the cross.

One can reach the place very much situated off the civilisation only within the scope of a longer walk. Startingpoint could be Mayschoß or Stenzelberg.
