Located in Romney, WV, this scenic railroad runs on the weekends most of the summer and daily in the height of fall foliage season (Oct.) Riders are in for a 3 1/2 hour to full day trip with scenic views and usually one or more Bald Eagle siting (?perhaps how the railroad got it's name) along the Potomac River.
History lesson, local information, and bird sitings given over the train speakers during the ride. There's a mystery train too, though I didn't try that one.
Closed cars with an open viewing car. Concessions available, multi-course meal & ride in a dining car for first class. Reservations for first class, October weekends, and special events...walk ups are usually ok.
