In Shenandoah National Park off of Skyline Drive Mile 50.7. Access from the large parking area OR (I suggest) park at 49.4 and catch the whole loop from Rose River Falls trail. From the Loop, 4.2 miles around coming to falls spectacularly from the bottom. From the parking area, coming from the top (steep trip home), 1.4 miles round trip. Be sure to come all the way up/down (depending on your starting point) as most viewers miss half of it.
Path goes from above the falls to below it.
The Parks service says it's 70' high. I'm not sure where they are calling the stop and finish, but it seemed higher than that to me (stair step sections all the way up). Either way, impressive.
Note, path is often crowded as this is the more easily accessed falls in the park. Just so you know, don't plan to be alone. Easpecially beautiful in the spring (flowering plants) and fall (leaves changing colors). 2006 height of color Oct 19.
