Masonic Temple is at 74 S. 2nd Street in the Borough of Chambersburg. Built in 1823-1824, the Masonic Temple is a brick, two-story structure with a stucco veneer which was applied in 1905.
The architect for the construction of the Masonic Temple was Brother Salas Harry, for which he was paid $5.00. On May 15, 1823, Brother Salas Harry, also a contractor, offered to construct and finisn the building for the sum of $2,500.00. The building was to be 32 feet by 67 feet.
The architect for the addition built in 1966 was the firm of Buchart and Horne Associates of York, Pennsylvania. The contractor was Brother Carl R. Flohr, of Chambersburg, and the two-story addition was 29 feet by 21 feet.
