Margaret Joanne Shively age 103 of Nixa, MO formerly of Warrensburg MO passed away Thursday Dec 27th 2007 in Nixa, MO.
She was born July 21, 1904 in Richmond Hill, NY the daughter of John C. Klee and Pauline E. Knauer Klee. Mrs. Shively graduated from Wilson KS High School, and attended Strickland Business College in Topeka, KS. On Nov. 18th 1930 in Topeka, KS she married John M. Shively. She and her husband moved to St. Joseph, MO and then to Warrensburg, MO.
She resided in Warrensburg for more than 60 years. Along with her husband John they owned and operated the "Annex Restaurant" and "Shively's Men's Wear." Among other remarkable accomplishments Joanne authored an autobiographical novel at the age of 99 "My Strawberry Hill." Survivors include daughters: Nancy Carter of Topeka, KS and Sally Dyer of Nixa, MO, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grand children and nine great great grand children. She was preceded in death by husband John, daughter Marilyn Eubank of Ponca City, OK, son Jack Shively of Wichita, KS, and her parents.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Warrensburg with Rev. Alex Wales of the First Presbyterian Church in Warrensburg officiating.
