"Hugglescote Gateway - Installed January 2010. A project run by Mantle Arts in partnership with Leicestershire County Council. Sculptor Hilary Cartmel worked with students from Hugglescote Primary School and Newbridge High School and with the U Youth Group and the Church Lads and Girls from Hugglescote to create images based on trees. ‘Hands’ representing the leaves on the branches connect the village to its history - people working with hands on the land & mines."
