This large chunk of silica is located in the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center. The accompanying sign informs us:

"Porkchop Geyser experienced a hydrothermal
explosion in 1989. The blast blew debris from the
geyser's interior as much as 220 feet (67 meters)
away. This fragment shows the intricate build
up of silica that occurred in the geyser's
plumbing system, near its vent."
