Peacefully, on June 1st, 2012, in her 104th year, Georgia Lucille (Louise) Beveridge (nee McCabe). Born November 4th, 1908 in Van Buren, Arkansas, and raised on a fruit farm in the Ozark Mountains foothills, Louise is reunited with her husband, William S. (Bill) Beveridge of Ottawa. Predeceased by brothers Louis and Bill, sister Jessica, and son-in-law Dick Vyfvinkel. Loving mother to Judy Harris, Bill Beveridge (Bonnie), and Gini Vyfvinkel. Proud Grandmother to Mark Harris (Stephanie), Paul Harris (Louise), Peter Harris (Ellen), Lee, and Jordan Beveridge. Loving Great-grandmother to Thomas, Jessica, Reilly, Amy, Hope and Chloe Harris. Louise was educated at Arkansas State University and Northwestern University, where she received a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. After meeting her husband in St. Louis, Mo., Louise relocated to Ottawa, where she was a supply teacher in the Ottawa Public, Catholic and Jewish (Hillel Academy) Schools. Louise served many years as a Board Member of the YWCA, and was especially proud of being instrumental in the founding of Camp Davern for Girls. Louise was a 64-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron of Success Chapter #30 and District Deputy Grand Matron for District #14 in the Grand Chapter of Ontario. Louise traveled to many parts of the world, including Ireland, Greece, and the Canary Islands, and entertained many with stories of her travels. She led by example, was worthy of respect, and lived with a feistiness and determination that was admired by many.

A service will be held on Wednesday, June 6th, 2012, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Ottawa Masonic Centre located at 2140 Walkley Road. Many thanks to the staff at Lynwood Park Lodge Retirement Centre, Granite Ridge Specialty Care Centre, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Ottawa Masonic Centre, and all of Louise's visitors and well-wishers over the years.
