The Howell family were area pioneers who arrived here in the mid-1870s, and some of the cemetery burials date to that era. This cemetery is made up mostly of family members and others who were tied to them through marriage. The cemetery is pretty much inactive, although Tom Howell Youngblood was buried here in 1990, not long after his grandmother, Laura Howell Youngblood (1989).
