The hourglass evokes the inexorable passage of time; Each grain of sand being able to represent a day of our life. The hourglass regularly carries wings of dove or angel, both messengers of God, as if the instrument of the measure of time became, with death, the soul that the dove or angel will convey to heaven.
In certain representations, these are bat wings, the mammal that flies in the Night, in Death.
By its reversible side, the hourglass evokes the faculty of a new life or of true life, according to the convictions of each one, if one returns this instrument of the measure of time.
