The Grube is a regulated stream in Wismar in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In official maps it bears the name Mühlenbach.
The Mühlenbach is an outflow of the Mühlenteich. This is fed by the Wallensteingraben and flowed through it from the south to the north. The Mühlenbach leaves the pond on the western bank, crosses the railway line Wismar-Bad Kleinen and runs from there in the north direction. To the south of the train station is a park (Lindengarten). A weir raises the Mühlenbach here. After crossing the Bahnhofstraße, the moat runs west and reaches the former municipal mill, which today bears the name Alte Stadtmühle. From here onwards, the river is called the Mühlengrube. Within the northern part of the old town, the Grube is enclosed in a dry stone wall. On both sides are head-paved one-way streets. At the height of the Sabbath House, the name of the body of water changes into Frische Grube. From the goat market in the north-west of the old town to the mouth of the Old Port, one speaks of the Runde Grube. This is bridged by a half-timbered house, which bears the name vault. Directly behind it, the Grube flows into the port of Wismar and thus into the Baltic Sea.
The watercourse is four meters high from the mills pond to the mouth. The total length is about two kilometers, embedded through the city center 670 meters.
