DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 (VBM) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 2-1/2 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF MOUNDSVILLE AND ABOUT 1-1/2 MILES EAST OF THE OHIO RIVER AND ON A ROUND BARE TOPPED HILL. IT IS 316 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A POWER POLE (NO 25.1367) WITH TRANSFORMER, 215 FEET NORTHWEST OF A 10 INCH TREE, 181 FEET WEST OF A WITNESS POST AND 318 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE NORTH EAST CORNER OF THE PASTURE. IT IS ON SUMMIT OF RIDGE IN PASTURE FIELD. THE PROPERTY IS OWNED BY MR. JOHN MROZ. THE MONUMENT IS FLUSH AND THE DISK IS STAMPED MROZ 1963. TO REACH FROM THE U.S. POST OFFICE IN MOUNDSVILLE, GO SOUTHWEST ON STATE HIGHWAY 2 FOR 1.25 MILE TO A SIDE ROAD LEFT (ROBERTS RIDGE ROAD). TURN LEFT AND GO 0.05 MILE TO A FORK. TAKE RIGHT FORK AND GO SOUTHEAST UPHILL FOR 0.15 MILE TO A SMALL BRIDGE. CROSS BRIDGE AND CONTINUE UPHILL 1.2 MILE TO A REVERSE Y-FORK, TURN SHARP LEFT AND GO 0.45 MILE TO THE AZIMUTH MARK ON THE LEFT AS DESCRIBED. CONTINUE SOUTH ON SURFACED ROAD FOR 0.25 MILE TO A SIDE ROAD LEFT. TURN LEFT ON DIRT ROAD AND GO EASTERLY FOR 0.1 MILE TO END OF ROAD. CONTINUE AROUND SLOPE OF PASTURE FOR 0.05 MILE TO EAST SLOPE OF RIDGE. TURN RIGHT AND CONTINUE NORTHERLY FOR 0.15 MILE TO TOP OF SUMMIT AND THE STATION. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS SET IN A FENCE LINE, 2 FEET NORTHWEST OF A WITNESS POST, 44 FEET NORTHWEST OF A 10 INCH TREE AND SET 180 FEET DOWN SLOPE FROM THE STATION. THE MONUMENT PROJECTS 6 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED NROZ NO 1 1963. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS 47 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A POWERLINE POLE NO. 25-369 WITH GUY WIRE, 47 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST EDGE OF THE DIRT ROAD, 2 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE END OF A FENCE LINE AND 63 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF A GRAVEL ROAD. THE MONUMENT PROJECTS 1 INCH AND THE DISK IS STAMPED MROZ NO 2 1963. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS 2 FEET NORTH OF A WITNESS POST, 2 FEET SOUTH OF A POWERLINE POLE AND 19 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE PAVED ROAD. THE MONUMENT PROJECTS 10 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED MROZ 1963.
