The plaque on the travel agent's wall reads:
"[Diagram of G. Litchfield General Store]
Sgt. William Litchfield
This plaque commemorates the 170th Anniversary of his arrival in Port Macquarie.
"This was the site of the family home and General Store, which operated until 1891.
"Erected by the Litchfield Reunion 2005"

There has been a book written about this Sgt. William Litchfield (by Terry Litchfield: 2005.) "Litchfields in south east Australia : illustrated stories of Litchfield families in New South Wales and Victoria" (visit link)
