St Michael's Church, also known as St Michael and All Angels, stands on a small rise overlooking Big Mere in the village of Marbury, Cheshire East. The church is a Grade II* listed building. (

The church has two string courses which are decorated with carvings of animals and flowers, and there are many gargoyles depicting images such as monkeys, twins, smiling faces and grotesque faces on the exterior of the church. (

An extract from the Grade II* listed description mentions grotesque heads and gargoyles.
"String course above carved with grotesque heads and above that a 3-light louvred belfry opening with cusped lights, hood mould and label stops. Further string course with grotesque heads below the level of the battlemented parapet which has gargoyles at the corners and to the centre."
