The church was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

This was the third church built. The first was a wooden church built in 1826. The second larger stone church was built in 1842. The third church is still being used. It was built of stone in 1884. Both the second and third church were Onondaga limestone. This version has a 200 foot spire.
Many of the stained glass windows were made by Cox, Buckley and Co. of London-New York. One window is a Tiffany.
