"Die schlichte Saalkirche, erbaut 1722-1725 ist ein Dankvotivbau des Fürsten Leopold l., gestiftet anlässlich der glücklichen Heimkehr seiner Söhne aus dem habsburgischen Türkenkrieg. Ev. St.-Bartholomäi-Kirche in Dessau-Waldersee An der Westseite wurde 1816-1817 im Auftrag von Fürst Franz ein Turm angefügt, erbaut im klassizistischen Stil und gekrönt von einem weithin sichtbaren Obelisk. Dieser Turm war als Begräbnisstätte für die Gemahlin des Fürsten gedacht. Nach seinem Tod wurde auch Vater Franz hier beigesetzt. Somit wurde das Mausoleum die Begräbnisstätte des Fürstenpaares. Nach Fertigstellung des Bauwerkes und der Gruft 1822 wurden Vater Franz und seine Gemahlin Luise vom "Neuern Begräbnisplatz" hierher umgebettet. Noch heute führt eine Blickachse vom Turm zum Schloss Luisium. Die Kirche wurde als Baudenkmal eingestuft."
