In July 1955, the parish of St. George came to be with a 100 families making up the parish. In 1956, the first church was built. However, over the decades there was problems with the supports. It took several years to determine the style for the new church that was to be built. the new church was built and completed in time for Easter mass in 1999.

There is a chapel that is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. There is also a library within the church.
