Lady Elizabeth grave site is located in Mount Nelson Park overlooking Lake Windermere. There is a red granite marker that is about 5 feet in height with a Celtic cross. There is a pavilion with a hip roof that is supported by four natural stone pillars. Below is the name "Bruce".
At ground level is a marker that is inscribed:
Here lies
Lady Elizabeth
Wife of
Randolph Bruce
Born 8 March 1876
Died 27 September 1915
There is a rather long plaque attached to one of the interior roof beams and is inscribed as follows:
Lady Elizabeth
Lady Elizabeth and Randolph Bruce were married on January 6, 1914 at Upton Pynes, Devonshire, England. On returning to the Windermere valley, they lived on a houseboat called the "Dorothy M" which was anchored on this shore while their new home was being built. They called their new home Pynelogs. Lady Elizabeth died unexpectedly before their home was completed. Randolph Bruce stayed in the home until 1937, at which time he gave the building to the community for a hospital and it has continued to be called Pynelogs. These grounds were part of Bruce’s garden.
