Der deutsche Künstler Hermann Goepfert (1926-1982) gründete mit dem Architekten Johannes Peter Hölzinger die "Planungsgemeinschaft für neue Formen der Umwelt". Die beiden schufen die kinetische Skulptur "Löffelwald" für die Bundesgartenschau 1979 in der Rheinaue Bonn. Der "Löffelwald" besteht aus 10 Einzelobjekten. Die "Stiele" sind statisch im Boden versenkt. Die 10 Scheiben am Kopfende der Stiele sind beweglich und verändern im Wind ihre Position. Die spiegelnden Oberflächen der Scheiben geben immer wieder neue Farben und Ausschnitte der Landschaft und des Himmels wieder.

The German artist Hermann Goepfert (1926-1982) founded the "Planning Community for New Forms of the Environment" with the architect Johannes Peter Hölzinger. The two created the kinetic sculpture "Spoon Forest" for the Bundesgartenschau 1979 in the Rheinaue Leisure Park Bonn. The "Spoon Forest" consists of 10 individual objects. The "stems" are sunk in the ground. The 10 discs at the head of the stems are mobile and change their position within the wind. The mirroring surfaces of the panes always reflect new colors and cut-outs of the landscape and of the sky.
