Built in 1886 through a donation from Henry Woods, a native of Barre, MA. Woods also donated $5,000 to the library association as an endowment, where the income from the fund was to be used to purchase books for the library. The building is across the street from the Barre Common, with the inscription Woods Memorial Library Building, 1886. Architect was Henry D Woods, of Boston, son of the donor Woods.
