These ice age boulders, surrounded by birches, are located in the Herman-Löns Park on the barely perceptible Kiebitzberg. The largest one has a diameter of 1.7m and was protected as a natural monument, but is now designated as a geotope.
Its age is about 1.8 billion years. It was transported from Småland in southern Sweden by glacial glaciers to this place.
The foundling consists of coarse-grained, light-brown Småland granite, which is composed of, among others, pink feldspar, light quartz and finely divided black mica.
