Coney Mountain is a small peak in the Adirondack Region of New York State. At only about 2260 Feet, it does not qualify as one of the 46 4000 footers. Coney does offer spectacular 360 degree views of the area.

The trail up Coney Mountain is not marked with a ADK trail sign. The trail begins where the county line crosses Route 30, South of the town of Tupper Lake. There is a parking turnout on the west side of Route 30 at the county line. Across the road you can see what the dirt and rock path that is the trail up Coney.

The trail is marked with bright red spray paint, and is not too long (apprx 0.7 mi). It is steep in parts, and can be muddy, as most trails in the Adirondacks are. The op is exposed rock and offers 360 degree views. Mount Arab is visible to the North with its distinct fire tower on top.

Clockwise from Tupper Lake on the north, the principal landmarks are nearby Goodman Mountain (Coney's twin), Mount Morris (Big Tupper), the Sewards, the MacIntyres to the east, Marcy (highest peak in NY State), Santanoni, Blue Mountain, and several lakes and ponds to the west.

When hiking the area, be sure to look for geocaches, there are 2 at coney, as well as the triangulation disks at the summit (there are 3 disks).

Altitude is estimated as I did not record it when I summited, just coordinates. I collected the estimated altitude from geocaching.com benchmark coordinates for the Coney Tri Station at the summit.

Altitude in Feet: 2260
