Dunkin' Donuts currently has over 6,000 stores worldwide, but it originated on the Southern Artery in Quincy, Massachusetts. An unassuming Dunkin' Donuts store now operates there, at 495 Southern Artery, in a newer store, but still selling the donuts and coffee that New Englanders love.
Inside the store is a plaque stating, "On this site the original Dunkin' Donuts shop opened its doors in May, 1950." The store itself is relatively small, but apparently active in the neighborhood (according to another wall full of plaques).
