[FR] Le 23 juin 1938, un Potez 50, avec à son bord 7 personnes quitte la base de Tours ( alors base 109) , à destination de Villacoublay.
Aux commandes un pilote en cours de qualification, son instructeur et cinq membres d'équipage.
Suite à un problème technique, l'avion tente de se poser dans ce qu'il croit être une prairie, mais c'est une tourbière, et là, c'est le drame.
L'avion prend feu. Aucun survivant.
Aujourd'hui, la tourbière a laissé place à un étang dans une belle propriété, et en retrait sur le chemin qui borde cet espace, se trouve une stèle, à la mémoire des disparus, inaugurée le 25 juin 1939.
La stèle, en mauvais état, porte les noms des 7 disparus :
Capitaine Maurice Marmagnant : effectuait la dernière épreuve de son brevet de commandant d’avion.
Capitaine Jean Raineri : commandant d’avion, contrôleur de l’épreuve.
Lieutenant de vaisseau René Perret, attaché de l’état-major particulier du ministre de l’Air.
Lieutenant Georges Raynaud : 1er pilote, de la Section des Transports Aériens de Villacoublay.
Lieutenant Jean Canal : 2e pilote.
Sergent-chef Albert Thibault : radio.
Sergent Yves Fabre : Mécanicien.
[EN] On June 23rd, 1938, a Potez 50, with 7 people left the base of Tours (then base 109), bound for Villacoublay.
At the controls a pilot in the process of qualification, his instructor and five crew members.
Due to a technical problem, the plane tries to land in what it believes to be a meadow, but it is a bog, and this is the drama.
The plane catches fire. No survivors.
Today, the peat bog has given way to a pond in a beautiful property, and on the road which borders this space, stands a stele, in memory of the missing, inaugurated on June 25, 1939.
The stele, in bad condition, bears the names of the seven missing:
Captain Maurice Marmagnant: was the last test of his command of airplane commander.
Captain Jean Raineri: Airplane Commander, Controller of the event.
Lieutenant (N) René Perret, Attaché of the Special Staff of the Minister of Air.
Lieutenant Georges Raynaud: 1st pilot, from the Air Transport Section of Villacoublay.
Lieutenant Jean Canal: 2nd driver.
Chief Sergeant Albert Thibault: radio.
Sergeant Yves Fabre: Mechanic.
