Village of Hyde, Assiniboia
SE 1/4 21, 19 - 7 W2M

One of the oldest landmarks of the district was the Village of Hyde, Established in 1887 on this side by A. E. Hyde. Mr. Hyde, who came from England, had a estate, at one time the village included a hotel, store, blacksmith shop, court house, Anglican Church, boat house and post office. Mr. Hyde ran out of money and was forced to sell all his belongings and desert the village. When the CPR Railroad located at the village of Neudorf in 1904, Neudorf offered more the conveniences to area's settlers. The village of Hyde slowly began to disappear.
